I just registered an account on a smaller Pixelfed instance and currently waiting for the admin to approve my registration. I want to ask Fedi community: Is there a feature to transfer my profile (including all the post), so I don't need to re-upload all my post? If there is, which option in the setting?

I am doing this to limit the reach of spam and bot accounts interacting with me.

@serigala_tropis there is the usual "/settings/account/migration/manage" for migration, but I'm not sure whether this is more of a forwarding thing or if the posts will be copied too (I suspect the former).

@low there is no /settings/account/migration in Pixelfed. It's different than Mastodon.

@serigala_tropis not simple. Because it's not just about move your posts on old instance, but their posts already published and recorded by other instances.

Some tools exist to import old posts (specific to platform type), but other servers will still link those posts to the old place.

As additional note, post's identifier in #activitypub is their url. So it wouldn't be simple to change that.

You can migrate one profile to a new account, but it will just move your following and follower list, not posts.
