Whilst the evidence suggests that Meta are behind much of the ID verification push, I have a strong hunch that Palantir are in the background whispering in the right ears to push this crap forward. -

@_L1vY_ @leahmcelrath Link, please? I'm finding articles about it but not the manifesto itself.

@msbellows There's a link to the thread reader in the very next post.
(If you want to go directly to X to see the actual post you probably can via the thread reader, but I'm not posting X links here!)

Also, people need to understand just how twisted Alex Karp is psychologically. He can rant about white superiority, but he’s a very mixed breed. This phenomenon is familiar to people of color where individuals of mixed background often become the most vitriolic racists.
Somebody like Nick Fuentes would be another example of this, but you have your pic from the GOP as well

@_L1vY_ @leahmcelrath would've been nice if they'd asked a cultural anthropologist for input. I have uh thoughts

there's a logic that says because Nick Fuentes has a lot of Mexicans, Italians, and Irish immigrants in his family tree he's overcompensates by being a huge xenophobic white supremacist assholehe may be a bad example though, because in reality he's a huge cynic who says whatever gets the most profitable and fame increasing reaction from his chat
but the UK government has certainly had a lot of people, born in the UK, who were the children of immigrants, who despised immigrants and became head of immigration just to go on some sort of personal crusade against them. Priti Patel, Suella Braverman, etc
we must also consider the plight of the pick-me. the right wing media always has a place for members of minorities happy to tell them they're right, and punch further down the social hierarchy
the counter argument to all of this is it removes agency from these people. maybe they are just racist by random ideological preference

Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Conservative Party, is a black woman with a huge hard on for white imperialist history (and future)to us that seem insane, but to her its her favourite fandom
perhaps she doesn't want to belong, perhaps she's just got awful taste
ultimately, what matters is her actions not how she reached them

he is a very interesting personthe children of socialists
thinks of himself as progressive but hates 'woke' people
likes Hillary hates Bernie
what he wants from the Democrats is basically Republican policy
though I guess some Democrats want that. ones sold out to big money donors (most of them) or like Ezra Klein that think the way to win the country is give up on supporting abortion in red states. signaling to women their bodily autonomy is a debate and not a fundamental human right to demand the world over
anyway, this guy needs a psychiatrist
wealth reveals. whatever else he is, this dude is a racist piece of shit
