Fellow gardeners: how do you carry your phone around when you're listening to your music or stories in the garden?

I recently picked up this extremely stylish fanny pack at a rummage sale for $1. It's just big enough for my phone, so the phone doesn't move around in there. I use Bluetooth headphones too so that the plants don't get annoyed by my stories (they like it pretty quiet).

Anyway, I figured I'd share a photo of it before it gets all gardened up like everything else I have. πŸ˜… As the saying goes: "all clothes eventually become garden clothes."

@mk30 I don’t listen to anything on my phone while gardening. I like hearing leaves, and insects, and birds.

I keep my phone on me in a trouser or jacket pocket.

@mk30 I made a phone carrier, granny squares on the outside and quilting cotton on the inside. It holds it vertically, so the headphone plug comes out the top. It hangs like a crossbody bag, since I intended it for taking walks, so I have to tuck it into my jacket or tie it around my chest to keep it from swinging around.

@mk30 I just ruined my Fairphone carrying it around in an arm band that I thought was waterproof. Now carry my old phone in a waterproof pouch used for snorkeling.

@mk30@regenerate.social i keep it in a pocket, from which it inevitably falls into the dirt πŸ˜•

@mk30 you and I could have a shit ton of fun modeling our spectacular garden garb! πŸ˜‹

I sort of take inspiration from the inuit. I have leggings on and over pants, a tshirt, a turtleneck, and the worst sweater you've ever seen on top. I add the worst jacket if it's cold.

I buy shoes at the thrift shop. The last pair is proving difficult to destroy. It's made by clarks and boy are they tough!

I modify the chest pockets on my gardening clothes so my phone will stay in.

Also desirable, a well zippered pocket for keys. Dropping those in the garden, bad. On a wild walk, worse. Under the flail mulcher...

                      Garden...phone? πŸ˜† I don't. That's why I disappear on workable days.

Even garden photos, a dedicated camera session, clean hands.

Music? Head full of it, electronics is interference.

Me too. I use it when walking in summer too, if I have no pockets.
