    literally took a break from hauling manure to make this video about how the fertilizer crisis is

    um

    not real

    This is where fertilizer prices are at. Lower than they were for most of 2025.

    Would love to do an in-depth piece on fertilizer handling, supply chains, & why "just give ships escorts through the Strait of Hormuz!" is real stupid, according to military personnel.

    But it's the middle of farm prep so this is what I could do on short notice ๐Ÿ’ฉ

      isn't there a simple solution. instead of huge factory farms. small farms that grow vegetables and grain and also raise animals.

        @sarahtaber

        What keeps the price of fertilizer low? The Russians sell it. The U.S. imports Russian fertilizer without tariffs.

        The U.S. imports Russian di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) and other fertilizers. Despite tensions, the U.S. exempted Russian fertilizer from many sanctions to avoid supply shortages. Russia remains a significant supplier.

          American farmers should not be so afraid of #fertilizer shortages because of a blocked Strait of #Hormuz. Americans can buy #Russian #fertilizer without #tariffs.

              @the5thColumnist Small farms also use fertilizer

              like, the laws of physics & biochemistry don't change with the size of the farm

              unfortunately getting 100% of our nitrogen from manure doesn't work so well. we tried that & it led to mass starvation on many occasions

                    @Stinson_108 @sarahtaber if you think giving Russia money is a solution to anything in the world, please rethink your position.
