Okay, let's not just complain about companies but also point out the cool things!
I have a years old (4?) Sonos Roam that suddenly died. It seemingly charges but endlessly so and it won't turn on anymore no matter what you do. The internet says it's most likely a dead battery. I suspect some BMS or battery protection going crazy.
Before I crack it open and just replace the battery, I decided to reach out to the Sonos support. They asked me to do all the button dances I tried before again, but then they said I'd just get a new one and can send the old one back. This thing is out of warranty for years. I'll take that. Good one.

BTW, the same goes for Herman Miller. Got a tear in the backrest of my Aeron. I sent them pictures and they sent me new parts and even an offer to send over a technician to install them - which I declined, because I know how to not poke myself in the eye with a screwdriver.

@G33KatWork Herman Miller seem like one of those companies that still does things the old way. Hasn't been rotted to the core by people intent on gouging every last bit of profit out even at the cost of making a shittier product or providing shittier service.

@ret They are pretty fucking expensive though. Which is fine in my book if they stick to their 12 year warranty and 24/7 usage claims. Which they apparently do.

@G33KatWork yeah, buying this hurt, but... not as much as spending most of my waking life sat in a shit chair will. Has quickly ended up being one of the best things I've ever bought.

@ret @G33KatWork except when you get a two-year old used #HermanMiller #Aeron, then you are out of their warranty
