      @itsfoss People don't seem to remember that "Open Source" was a term invented in order to explicitly NOT take a stance. To stand APART from "Free Software" as the more corporate friendly alternative.

        @itsfoss

        This is stupid question, and the fact that the open source principle basically demands that this question be posed in a neutral way, exposes the fact that the FOSS movement cannot, and specifically refuses to, protect us from fascism.

        We need to take what we've learned from open source, and build something new. Something that will, as a matter of bedrock principle, stand up for human rights.

        Linux distros should be either refusing to comply, or forbidding people through its license, in jurisdictions like CA that require age verification, to not use their software. It really is that simple.

          @itsfoss Also, will you please censor the r-slur in your post?

          Just because the racist piece of shit known as DHH said it, doesn't mean you have to quote it verbatim.

                @pip @itsfoss

                How can you oppose fascism, and in the same breath you request someone to censor words you dislike?

                  @libreovergratis @itsfoss Not using slurs respects the dignity of all people. That's how it's opposing fascism.
