A critical strategic question emerges as conflict expands: What will China do regarding Taiwan? If Beijing seizes this moment to move against the island while US is focused on Iran, the conflict would fully transition into World War III.

Meanwhile, China is actively supplying Iran with offensive and defensive weapons as US prepares for strikes: kamikaze drones, advanced anti-ship missiles, hypersonic missiles, HQ-16 and HQ-17AE air defense systems. China and Iran are also negotiating potential acquisition of the DF-17 hypersonic glide vehicle, designed to evade advanced air defenses. Beijing has informed several Arab nations about these shipments—interpreted as attempting to deter US attack while demonstrating willingness to back Iran.

A simultaneous Middle East conflict and Taiwan crisis would stretch US military resources across two oceans.
