@whitequark Seeing people openly abusing unplanned maintenance to go on free holidays may be the final straw to convince them to fix that crap ahead of time. Or to charge train passengers per minute like it's a cloud resource. One of those.

@whitequark I feel like if you can reliably predict this kind of thing, there are 2 possibilities:
- it's more profitable to sell the technology to the railroads so they can do JIT maintenance, and make more money than you'd save on fares, or
- the same skills also presumably apply to other, more profitable things to predict, like stock prices, or the spot oil market, or what words jerome powell will say at his next press conference -
