Now that Hetzner has increased their rental fees, I must utilize my VPS resources. Any suggestions on which services to run? I can't run anything that takes too much disk space as I don't have much. That means no file hosting, officeware, music or podcast, videos etc. But I have plenty of free CPU and RAM. #selfhosting

@abnv Some other ideas: RSS reader (I use freshrss), git forge and CI (I use forgejo and forgejo runner), read it later app (I haven't find anything more satisfying than Readwise Reader, so I am still using that rather than self-hosted apps), push notification (I use ntfy), and blog comments section

@abnv what about “folding at home”? Help science solve problems with distributed compute! Also freshrss - curate your media intake and avoid email subscriptions.

@viz Yes. But with more user-friendly UI, the internet says.

@abnv @viz one thing I like about AGH is that it's just a single binary!

@lesley @abnv +1 for freshrss. I suggested it before seeing your comment. Also, I use wallabag for a read it later app and I’ve enjoyed it so far.

@pmbrandvold @lesley Thanks but I've got all of these running already except the notification thing. The server is still underused.

@pmbrandvold I do self host Miniflux RSS reader. Running Folding at Home is an interesting idea. I'll look into it. Thanks.

@abnv I've had good success with adguardhome, it's also easily configurable with NixOS, which was my main driver for migrating to it from pihole
