The Omega group was an adhoc net of subversives working out of their State labs, mostly on the fronts. They knew, beyond all doubt, the Conflict was fast bringing humans to an end. They also knew the biotech they worked on could keep some humans "alive". Keeping pluslow radarwise, they worked to transfer their consciousnesses. Some survived, many did not.

When the field techs found 137BR they did not know it was pluswise intact and conscious until the recovered it.
