          @felixthehat @firefoxwebdevs I think the feature you're looking for is https://drafts.csswg.org/filter-effects-1/#FilterCSSImageValue - but yeah, no browser support at all yet.

              @jaffathecake @firefoxwebdevs Another one for the interop list then! I’d prefer background-opacity: 0.7; but hey ho it makes a nice change from complaining about text box trim support I suppose 🤞

                @felixthehat @firefoxwebdevs the nice thing about filter() is you can use it in other places that accept images, not just backgrounds.

                But yes, please suggest this for the next Interop. I don't think anyone suggested it this time around. Here's the Firefox bug if you want to track it https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1191043
