For the first time in my now 25 year cybersecurity career I will find myself voluntarily unemployed from March 20.

Over a period of about 12 months a series of events unfolded culminating in me terminating my employment.

It wasn't planned, not at all. But some decisions are made not because they are easy, but because they are necessary.

Fortunately I have made many friends in the industry, especially in the Swedish cybersecurity community and do not feel entirely too stressed out about not having an income in about a months time.

I will, hopefully, be able to look back on this decision and feel proud for standing up for myself and my integrity, and that principles are only as good as the reality and execution behind them.

    Towards the unknown...

@the_roamer Yes, indeed they are. Many a moons ago I participated in an exercise where we were to make a timeline and make note of important decisions we had made. Was the decision the result of careful and deliberate thinking (rational) or did you do what "felt" good (emotional).

I turned out that... yeah, I'm an emotional kinda guy. Every major decision I had made that somehow came to affect my life had been an "emotional" decision where I let my heart rule rather than brains.

Today I've "engineered" my life to ensure that I can continue to make emotional decisions.

... this has also "forced" me to actually put together a CV (work in progress) in an attempt to detail things that I've done.
