I must have walked past these tiles hundreds of times at South Station and never noticed this.

@jsit damn. I didn't look either. It's amazing what we see every day, but don't see, at all.
-
@jsit Interesting mosaic ...someone used their creativity ...

@jsit
Very hidden. Maybe too hidden? -
@callan @jsit More likely something like a theodolite. They are mermaids surveying the land. Meaning to symbolize the hidden work women have done for the transportation network: https://www.nitscheng.com/wts-boston-unveils-public-art-celebrating-women-in-transportation/
@Schouten_B @callan @jsit Yes. At first I thought it was mermaids holding a compass (drawing tool).

@jsit where in So Station is this? I've never noticed it either

@bobg The stairs at the entrance across from the Federal Reserve Bank
@jsit Thanks! I'll make a point to check it out next time I'm there

@jsit That hand rail is looking incredibly sad. If it was installed with the mosaic, it's been up for just under or barely seven years. The MBTA isn't getting value for its money.
-
@jsit Intriguing. It feels like a tiny human secret, even though it's in plain public sight. Thanks for spotting and sharing it.
