I'm aiming to get another 5 or 6 hours on M81 tonight, then I think I'll call this project done for now.

I've got about 12h total so far, but a lot of those frames will be unusable. I'm running a proper sort and integration of them now.
1138 frames survived the first sift though. Let's see how many make the final integration.

Work in progress. This is a rough cut from about half the data. M81

I added another 6 hours last night.
The computer is churning away adding it to the rest of the data. I should have 18h total. I was aiming for 20+ but bloody #starlink got in too many frames.

@angelastella The only way I can do any imaging from home now, is with very short exposures, so I don't get too many trails per image.
It's the absolute opposite of what I built the rig for - it should be do 8-10 min exposure easily.

Know what makes this worse? Lots of people already lost their skies to ground-based light pollution so they don't know how cluttered orbital space has become. No political pressure from them. Just another way in which scientific/technical illiteracy will kill us all.

@dtl @angelastella Starlink and the giant mirrors are exactly what @sundogplanets have been writing about and explaining ad nauseum. If you are not already following her, I’d recommend you to. As well as the increasing risks from old kit falling back to earth, and the damage it does burning up in the outer limits.

@HarriettMB @dtl @sundogplanets
Yes. She's burning out on all this. Were it not for her goats...

#Astrophotography@dtl I wonder how @radiotelescoop does that.
