    Do y'all have recommendations for N95-equivalent masks for small children? My kid can't wear one yet, I see sources saying it's a suffocation hazard until 2 years old, but I want to test some masks with relatives' kids.

    3 masks I've ordered but can't vouch for yet:

    * Zimi - https://zimiair.com/product/zm95s-white-particulate-protective-mask-children-xss-size/
    * Trident - https://hlpmedical.net/en-us/products/trident%C2%AE-surgical-p2-respirator-level-3-hospital-grade-face-masks-individually-packaged-box-20
    * Blue Industry - https://behealthyusa.net/products/blue-2d-color-mask-white-x-small-kids-size?_pos=1&_sid=fa1ca193c&_ss=r&variant=40977968529572

      @skyfaller I know the first two. I think Zimi is great, I highly recommend, no reservations, can be worn all day, really ZM95S saved us. Trident just about works, but I'm not a fan, it relies on strong straps squishing it onto the face, the straps tend to want to pull the nose bar flat again, it's painful, wear for a couple of hours max, and it didn't seal well under the chin for us. Either way, hope of the three you find one that works for you.

        @skyfaller I really like WellBefore as a seller -- used them during peak quarantine, and still get our masks from there. (can't remember who, but somebody researching said theirs were reliable.) we used this for our daughter, once we moved on from cloth ones, although she was older than your tot will be.

          @skyfaller Sorry, infodump afterthought, many masks require that you bend a nose wire/bar to fit the nose bridge.

          Zimi is a little different, the internal frame maintains the filter shape, but does not hug the nose bridge, instead there's a soft sealing skirt which accommodates the nose bridge.

          The Zimi nose adjustment is to cut the skirt to shape instead of bending a wire. I have a generic hole punch to make a circular hole at my predetermined position, then I cut the skirt up to the hole.

          They sell cutting guides and hole punches, but I think not strictly necessary, you can just gradually increase the cut depth on your first filter until you determine where it sits best on the child.

          https://zimiair.com/product/cut-sticker/

          (I mention it as I've seen people online who didn't realise adjustment was via skirt trimming, and seemed to be upset that they had to cut the skirt. Also there was a big fit testing account on the other place back in the day that specifically used this as a reason why Zimi is no good.)

            @skyfaller After our kids outgrew the kid's Flo masks, we tried a few - Zimi was the winner as it's easy enough for them to put on and they get a snug fit right away. And as a parent having to assist putting it on, it would be good too.

            The foam inserts for the nose in the Zimi solve a lot of problems -

            Trident was ok but harder to put on, as a kid and an assisting parent. It was harder to work out the nose without making it uncomfortably tight, or, not contoured enough.
