@neutronstar @protonprivacy No, I did not. I‘m not ambitious enough to try out too many other VPN servers or — worse yet — sign into anything I don’t want to sign into. I should have imagined access to be straightforward, i.e. w/o having to jump through “hoops” first,
Here”s the result using a CH server…

I’ve never heard of that before but I suppose it would serve the same purpose as an invidious instance. Why not use an invidious instance if you’d truly need to proxy yourself from youtube? I’m just curious -
Our latest video is a breakdown of Jeffrey Epstein’s spy network.
The surveillance companies he funded.
How he used surveillance to affect geopolitics.
How those on Epstein island were trapped by a secret spying camera network.
And, finally, how he benefited from this.
@protonprivacy remember when somebody made it into a cell block christmas decoration

@1P1sces @neutronstar @protonprivacy try using an invidious instance: https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?__goaway_challenge=js-refresh&__goaway_id=3e73552d64e60bcd34b25d7c26a31a24&__goaway_referer=https%3A%2F%2Finv.nadeko.net%2F&v=bugB0sA7FcA
Nevertheless a peertube would've been a better solution.(I haven't yet seen the video)

Agreed, though I’m not sure it’s necessary to use invidious for this specific scenario(I can’t know for sure though).And yes, they really should release their videos on Peertube shouldn’t they?

I’m not too good at German but I think that says ”sign in to prove you’re not a bot”. This is a common side effect of using a vpn as Google tries to block access to vpn ip addresses. The solution is to change vpn server, that’s what I do when I get this message at least.The side effect of privacy is most often convenience, sadly. Don’t be too worried about jumping vpn servers though. You’re right to be sceptical but this is, as usual, Google shenanigans. Hope it works out for you!
@neutronstar @protonprivacy Your German is spot on

And that’s what I assumed Google would want me to do. So far I’ve managed not to sign up with them and with anything Meta and I don’t intend to do so. Too bad interesting things such as this are apparently not shared via other platforms as well. But it’s not a big deal, really… I’ll survive! -

That’s weird, maybe it’s an instance specific issue, or just plain bad luck? Have a great rest of your day!

@protonprivacy any chance this could be an article and not just a video?
Agree!... I'd rather grab the article (any article) than watching stuff on stinking YouTube!
