      @maxleibman The Venn diagram of this and "person who does not know even a single union member" is a circle.

      Seriously if you want a general strike you need, *at a minimum,* 3-5 major national unions on board. E.g. the leadership of the Teamsters, UAW, SEIU, UFCW, the teachers, nurses, flight attendants etc. There's a tremendous amount of behind the scenes coordination required. "Just don't go to work on day X" is not a strike. A strike is a focused action with a defined goal.

        @liferstate @maxleibman I do hope people are working on that because the no Kings performances are useless.

          @chris @maxleibman I tell you, man, I have really had it with people from outside the US lecturing about what forms of protest are and are not worthwhile. Just accept that there's more happening here than is visible to your social circles and international news media and move on.

                Except I wasn't going to argue. I really wanted to know. It's difficult and confusing to try to follow things from the other side of the ocean. With all the rage and knee jerk reactions on the internet these days, its very difficult to get a clear picture of whats going on locally.

                But I understand if you are not interested or don't have the energy to explain.

                Have a pleasant weekend my friend.

                  @ItsePerkele

                  I'm not from the US but Margaret Killjoy visited the Twin Cities and had a report on it spoken about in the podcast below.

                  Talks about the Autonomous networks in the city.

                  https://www.liveliketheworldisdying.com/rapid-response-networks-in-the-twin-cities/

                  You can also find more from The Beautiful Idea

                  https://thebeautifulidea.show/ice-vs-ice-on-the-ground-in-minneapolis/

                  I feel there are a lot of people ripe to revolt in the US, they are far ahead of this than in Europe, but that may just mean they are further down the road.
