Some people have predicted that traditional coding will "die" by late 2026, replaced by AI generating optimised binaries directly from human intent. However, current research (as of early 2026) shows that 45% of AI-generated code already contains critical security vulnerabilities, such as SQL injection or hard-coded credentials. Skipping the human-readable code layer would likely amplify these risks by making them impossible to audit before execution.
