There was a time, post Obama, when I could set up a troll account on Twitter (JesusLoveForever33459), make a tiny handful of posts and have a couple of thousand followers within a couple of days. I used exactly the same approach; single/divorced woman, "traditional values", 2A, fundie, angry at liberals. I'd find something hateful, agree with it completely, follow every person in the responses and pick up at least half if not more as followers.
Then I'd sow dissent as a "vetted" conservative!
