Genuine Question: What's the major motivation for folks wanting a fast release cycle on their IDEs? What makes a text editor "dead"?
Obviously there can be things like a long-standing critical bug, or supporting a popular language's latest syntax/sugar promptly. But are you really invested in a monthly release cycle for how you use your IDE day-to-day?
