    The chief executives of major gas companies have declined a request to personally appear at hearings at a parliamentary inquiry into the sector’s tax settings.

    The bosses of #Woodside, #Chevron, #Santos, #Inpex, #Shell & #ConocoPhillips to front the inquiry, which is examining the case for replacing the petroleum resource rent tax (PRRT) with a flat 25% tax on export revenue.

    But the companies have rejected the request, instead sending senior executives & policy staff to face questions #auspol

      @John For every minute they're late to their hearing, raise the tax on them 20%
