Building Loops from scratch last fall has given me a lot of insight into how I can refactor Pixelfed to be less complex, more stable and how to implement a much more powerful ActivityPub/federation layer.

Pixelfed was my first laravel project. I've written hundreds more since then (mostly for work), and am much more skilled across the stack.

I can't wait to make Pixelfed easier to install, maintain and update, with better federation and APIs using much less resources!

@dansup rather sad that while you're actively developing Loops, Pixelfed is left behind and I have seen some Pixelfed folks switching to Mastodon because they are being disappointed.

@serigala_tropis I'm working on Pixelfed now!

I just shipped a few bug fixes tonight like hashtag following.

I'm going to spend a majority of this month improving Pixelfed and working on the new webUI and mobile app πŸ™‚
