    Does anyone else feel like they are living in an entirely different timeline than a lot of their friends? Post covid onset times I feel like there is this massive gorge that has developed. It feels like mass denial not just about covid but about everything in general.

    I sent a friend something about collective societal grief and the response was that they had no understanding of what it was about.

    These are people who used to process and think deeply about things and now they all live in this "same as it ever was bubble" and it's really depressing. They all act like I'm somehow a crazy person. It's really weird to feel gaslit by the world and friends and family and media on the regular and try to keep your balance among things.

    Grateful to a tiny handful of humans who don't make me feel that way, but man do I ever feel distance from people I once considered very close. I can't help but think that this is how we die eventually. With everyone denying the things going on right i front of their faces to the very end and making no effort to change trajectory.

    @RobotDiver FWIW repeated covid infections can lead to cognitive decline.

      @StaceyCornelius

      Yes. I consider this regularly. It's starting to feel a bit like invasion of the body snatchers. I miss the friends I knew and I think that adds to my grief.

        @RobotDiver I get that. I lost my social life, such as it was.

            @RobotDiver yes, I definitely have this, it's distressing. I've been told I am living in fear not living my life to the fullest. I want to actually live a while? And I enjoy what I do, I have just reduced it to be safer!

            My family and I have some friends that are really good and are as cautious as we are, and are also more aware of everything else going on in the world. Thank goodness for those people! Part of me feels sad about the distance with others but it's how it has to be

              @RobotDiver
              i think that maybe we have long (always?) lived in different worlds, but that the veil has been lifted and so it's becoming more clear to some of us

                    @RobotDiver Yes. And especially since AI boosterism was layered on top of Covid denialism, I feel quite disconnected to many people I used to relate to.

                      @RobotDiver Yes, it's the Dark R wing that has influenced them. People are lazy and think they know everything. It's too scary for these whimps to know the truth. A read a psot the other day and it was called "Truth Decay."

                      You aren't alone and I know it's very hard. 😞
