Is the main reason people use #linux because they want to use old tech that windows doesn't support anymore? Or is it something else? Genuinely curious.

@twowheelsin.com the reasons are numerous. I left the Windows ecosystem after Windows 7 went end of life. I found Windows 10 far too invasive in terms of data they collect on you. Windows 11 was the final nail in the coffin. The fact that you need to supply a Microsoft email just to use your own computer, and you now rent software instead of buying it, means I'll never go back to Windows. When I need Windows functionality, I can create a Windows 10 virtual machine and run it inside Linux. Also, you can get the same performance with a lot less hardware with Linux compared to Windows 11.
