I ran out of cheese, so I sliced off some butter and put that in my sandwich with a tablespoon of Branston and a hefty dollop of English mustard. It was the best sandwich I've ever made and it's been my breakfast for the last six weeks.

@fesshole for those wondering, Branston is "a condiment consisting of diced vegetables pickled in a sauce made from vinegar, tomato, apple, and spices. It has a sweet, spicy consistency like a chutney".

@fesshole Reckon OP has just discovered proper sandwiches after decades of being lied to by Big Mayo and Big Spread.

@fesshole Cheese is basically butter. Sounds lovely.

@fesshole I was staying at a mate’s place for a few days, and found this soft French cheese in her fridge. I spread this on buttered bread quite happily for a few goes, until she watched me doing it with a look of horror on her face. Turns out I’d been spreading soft butter on top of normal butter. It was great
