@arclight My favorite pointless airport luxury are those little robotic glasses washers. Like you pop them in a little thing on a stand and watch a machine spray and dry them. It legitimately feels nice to put some sparkly fresh glasses on my face and I will use those things every time I see them.

I feel like I've woken up in an Idiocracy LARP.
I haven’t flown since 2019. When I miss travel, I have a little list of things I reflect on to keep from getting sad: that time on Southwest when I was in the middle seat between two 300 pound guys, the NYT story about the airline with a bedbug problem, and now this.
In the past, I used to enjoy spending time in most airports, with the food and shopping and no pressure to do anything but catch my flight. But these sights you have here

@ai6yr @arclight I'm really not getting it. It's not even private... If at least you couldn't see inside maybe I could kind of understand, but with that glass anyone can just walk up and stare in.
By the dull lighting on face thing they're advertising so gleefully I guess the only thing this is really good for is stuff like making video calls or something? Well, that definitely sounds like a techbro thing...
(And why 2700K? Only one person thinks that's good for face lighting...)

@arclight it surely is terrible coffee, but airports are one of the places I will absolutely go to great lengths to not interact with any more people because I am already overwhelmed, exhausted, irritable, etc. and I'm trapped there. I need quiet, dark, alone time to recharge. airports are torture devices.

So old I remember walking onto the tarmac to greet my dad's plane when he came home on work trips. They still had the roll up steps then.
