@markwyner "We" used to march in NYC. As we walked down 5th Ave., people my spouse had helped came running up to her and thanking her. Helping by showing or writing and smiles does wonders.

@markwyner this was brilliantly timed, thank you

@markwyner The other day I saw Oslo's pride 2025 video and it has a very similar sentiment.

@markwyner@mas.to But what if some anti-LGBT people also wear the rainbow to ripoff others' trust? It's so dangerous to believe anyone with a rainbow is actually friendly.
-
@markwyner exactly. I'm not lgbtq either myself but I support 100% and always defend them against the idiot phobes who bitch about Pride because they don't understand that it Exists Because Their hate exists..I'd pay good money to watch a stranger tell any of them who they're Allowed to love.

@oldherl @markwyner
While possible I think it's such an edge case as to be extremely unlikely. It's better overall if those of us who are tolerant make the effort to show it. -
@markwyner I think people overlook how much some of us who are out need to see our community, as well. I'm in the middle of nowhere- in my community I'm the strangest fish in the bowl. Being able to occasionally see how big my "posse" actually is, and how many people are fighting for our rights together, reminds me I'm not alone, even when I'm the only weird fish in this particular bowl.
