I’ve had a Canada Post community mailbox for 20 years now, and used a rural PO Box before that. It’s fine, you’ll adjust. What I don’t like about all this is that the discourse is all about profitability of the service, instead of accepting that postal service should be a public good and profit shouldn’t be the driver of change. The postal service now gets tons of negative press as a result, instead of the discourse being around the question about why it’s underfunded and needs to make these cuts at all.

(unless it truly is unnecessary in modern society? I’m not sure what to think on that point).
