I'm so sick of Americans saying:
- It's just the president
- It's not our fault
- Don't confuse the president with us
- etc.I don't care, it's not my problem.
It's also the arrogant attitude they think they are invulnerable, above it all and too big to fail.
Something is fundamentally wrong with the USA.
And until they fix it, I want to boycott and limit my exposure to anything US.

Yup. It might not be "their" fault, but it is their responsibility to do something about it, and throwing their hands up and going "I didn't do this, it's not my problem" is the most American of responses.Their country has been doing this to the majority of the world for decades and decades, and they have benefitted from that fact. Now that they've extended this behaviour to the rich, white countries, and started to turn it inward towards white citizens, they recognize the behaviour as bad and something they don't want to be associated with.
But they are associated with it. They always have been. They just didn't care enough to say or do anything about it when it was hurting the third world and global south. And they don't care enough to do anything about it now, except announce their unculpability.
Fuck that.
