Everybody was worried that Quote boosts on Mastodon would lead to dogpiling, etc. Nobody ever Quote posts me.

Everybody was worried that Quote boosts on Mastodon would lead to dogpiling, etc. Nobody ever Quote posts me. Kind of makes me feel a little like Jeb Bush every now and then when I think that nobody thinks I am worth quoting OR the trolls figure they don't even need to bother with me.
"Please Boost, <insert pathetic Jeb face>

<joking>@paul Oh, you're quotable! See #PaulsRaccoonWar!
But after seeing it abused on The Site That Shall Not Be Named, I didn't want that done on Mastodon.

<joking>I still see ppl simply replying to a post & adding tags. "Promoting to ...." What are you promoting? I'm not interested in tapping into that & waiting for the whole thread to load just to learn what someone is talking about.

Or, far more reasonably, just quote the post & add tags. A quote is just a boost with comment. You have the context. Much more sensible. I don't understand all the angst around these basic features. But then, I liked Twitter before Musk.
Anyway thanks for the #HashtagGames. ๐ซก

<joking>@paul Some apps don't have the QB yet. Haven't yet found it on Tusky, so I have to go back to official Masto to QB, which usually means I don't bother.

@darth_hideout I was making a joke (or thought I was). I really don't care if am quoted or boosted. I never was into the viral thing.
I do like it when people quote to start separate conversations, or viewpoints, hot takes, etc. instead of long reply chains.
One thing about being on the Fediverse, I pretty much have a clean follow/followers list of people that want to share, have conversations, etc and not after being viral
