Unlike other measures to 'toughen' the refugee regime, this can be enacted merely as a change in existing rules & this requires no parliamentary scrutiny.
If, anyone thinks this will win Labour votes in the local elections, they may well be disappointed!

@ChrisMayLA6 they think it will get them the reform voters. They seem oblivious to how many votes it will lose them. I'm angry I voted Labour last time. Might as well have stuck with tories
