swapped the subordinate samd21 for a subordinate esp32 in order to use its much larger ram and all that to run the rgb panel - thankfully this is no more difficult to implement onto the board in eda as the samd21 is, so, no loss really. it just always bugs me to use esp32s for things that dont need wifi or bluetooth because like... what a waste right? but theyre so cheap and they have the ram for this.
