Just got an email from our daughter's school. A large group of kids walked out in demonstration against ICE. I think the school expects us to punish the kids but I'm going to buy mine ice cream.

Kids at my granddaughter’s high school did that last Friday, and she participated. (Her parents and I are tremendously proud.)

The school announced yesterday that anyone participating has to attend “make up school” this Saturday or next Saturday, from 9-12. C is going tomorrow since next Saturday we’ll be in NJ for Mom’s memorial service. She is perfectly willing to face the consequences and was prepared for that.

I think ice cream’s a good idea! ️

There were threats of suspension but only if they left campus. I'm not punishing my kid for having common sense and a good heart.

It also wouldn't be the first time I've been around with the school.

Absolutely! It took me until college to find my voice. I give these kids a lot of credit for standing up for what they believe.

She's a great kid, very giving and compassionate. It's nice to see her stand up for what she thinks is right, or wrong, in this case.
