@bastianallgeier How many people? Can you share how the whole thing happened? What was the trigger? Any learnings from the switch? Anything that others should know before doing it?

@judeswae Only six people, but I still consider it a huge success. The trigger was basically one of us asking the rest and using the state of the US and Meta in particular as argument. 4 where on board pretty much immediately. The 5th didn't really care too much and gave Signal a try for the first time, but the 6th person took a while to convince. I don't have any real advice to be honest. I think it's very personal to each group.

@bastianallgeier i finally got my sister and another friend to move our group chat to signal from fb messenger last year, it only took a cpl months of me having deleted my acct lol

Yeah, got my only WhatsApp group to move to Signal last year. Wasn't that hard because most of them don't know the difference.
So many people I use Signal now that I use it WAY more than regular messages, or the even the regular phone.
