Similar to how it sucks when a restaurant doesn't have a web site, they just have a facebook page, I get so mad when some #maker device like #esp32 relay, only has a youtube video.

They have a 24-second video, with pointless music and no words. All to fundamentally share this one image.
So I end up screen-capping that image and saving it in my folder of reference materials. Super frustrating.

@paco Speaking as a small business who really should have a web presence, I don't have the skill to build a website, not only do I lack the technical competence, but, as a blind person, I lack the confidence to ensure it is visually appealing, and I lack the money to have someone build it for me. Sadly, the existing platforms that already get traffic provide my alternative.

@JustinMac84 I get it. You're frequently excluded because the tech is essentially unusable. That's not your fault. There's no reason tech has to be that way. But it IS that way.
The flip side is that I'm excluded from these sites when they require a login. I don't even HAVE an instagram or tiktok account. While I have a Facebook account from 100 years ago, I never login. So if a business sends me somewhere that requires me to login to one of these sites or to install an app, I move on. I won't interact with these ad networks in order to do business with someone else.
It's a different kind of accessibility. People who want to access those sites must give up so much in terms of privacy.
There are free web site companies like Wix. Cost is not really the limiting factor. It's the fact that nothing free is also accessible, and very little that is accessible is also free.

@paco I wouldn't say that the tech to build websites is inaccessible. Blind people do do it. I could, had I the skill, build something unattractive and clunky, or at least I would worry it would be so. I fell at the CSS and PHP hurdles. If I had the time, application and motivation, I could build the website. If I had the money, I could have it built for me. The platforms are the less taxing option.

@JustinMac84 I understand. Everyone has limited time to spend on stuff, and we all have to pick our battles.
