I spent yesterday fitting my Varstrom electric front wheel to my bike. It was an experience as there is virtually no documentation provided but I got there in the end.
It works really well and it will help me get up the #Cowes hills.

The motor is surprisingly heavy so my front wheel now weighs a ton so I won't be lifting the bike up to store it upright anymore to save space.

The brake sensors were a complete faff so I'll probably replace the brake levers with Varstrom ones that include the sensors. I had to glue the sensors and magnets on as the sticky pads provided fell off almost immediately. Without the sensors on the motor won't start as it thinks I'm braking.

They supply a part which I discovered was a "thumb throttle" which would make it illegal in the UK so I didn't want to fit it. As there's no manual I wasn't sure if it would work without it but it did so you can just bin that bit.

There's a lot of excess wiring as everything is pre-terminated so I had to coil it up at the handlebars and I've taped it for now. I'll think of a better way of tidying it up later.

Another good thing is it comes with lights so I no longer have to remember to charge up the tiny USB lights I had before.

All in all a good spend of about £300.
