    "Palantir CEO Alex Karp thinks his AI technology will lessen the power of “highly educated, often female voters, who vote mostly Democrat” while increasing the power of working-class men.

    “This technology disrupts humanities-trained—largely Democratic—voters, and makes their economic power less. And increases the economic power of vocationally trained, working-class, often male, working-class voters....”

      @sonjdol what technology? Spark clusters with a data modeling layer feeding models and a low/no-code app building capability? Palantir software is not all that and a bag of chips. And there were so many educated women in that app and data pipeline development business.

        @sonjdol Generally, the conservatives and of course, the far-right want to reduce the participation of women. The very conservative influencer #tradwife want girls and women to marry being young, have children and die everything for their husbands, that work so much, instead of learning, studying and ve informed.
        They know that women vote less the far-right than men.

          @sonjdol

          Nobody is increasing the power of anyone 'working class'.

          The only target is to make the rich even richer while keeping the 'working class' in their little boxes.

          #ukgovernment #corruption is disgusting

            @sonjdol

            I know he thinks this implies a deep strategic win by the plutocratic class and its drive to reverse centuries of human progress but I have to say I don’t think he really knows much about how working class people of any educational tier actually think, and how they will vote. Sure you can pull a Trump or Brexit once or twice if you control the media. But inequality and repression eventually bite and then the working classes eat the rich, burn their palaces, and behead kings

            @helvick @sonjdol I think he also misunderstands how progress and civilizational foundations actually work and is basically helping to destabilize structures that also keep oligarchs safe from crowds with sharp and pointy objects

                @GhostOnTheHalfShell @sonjdol (Nothing to do with his mother but still, from Wiki)

                "Karp has condemned "woke" ways of thinking, calling them the central risk to his company Palantir..."
                Well that's just great. The founder of the mass surveillance system, who's entire world view revolves around power through aggression, views the left as the central risk to his surveillance company's existence. I'm sure that won't lead to surveillance and persecution of people with left-wing ideologies. Surely.

                      @sonjdol Interesting times we live in where people say this shit out loud. What he mans though is he wants to disenfranchise the women he refers, but also the working class. So the second part is a lie. Power to the rich and privileged, damn the rest. He and his company is so contemptible, yet people are sucked into his shit.

                          The same humanities-trained that were able to find jobs while CS graduates couldn't? The ones whose critical thinking skills are in short supply with the rise of LLM offloading?

                                  @sonjdol as a non USian I think it's interesting that this article defines Democrats as an academic elite party and Republicans as working class party. and no one objects to that definition here. guess that's just how it is now, eh.

                                    Nobody is increasing the power of anyone 'working class'.

                                    The only target is to make the rich even richer while keeping the 'working class' in their little boxes.

                                      @sonjdol how come this does not count as affirmative action? 👀

                                        Ah. It certainly depends on the source of lies. According to regime media New York Times (January 2024) article cited USA Today poll "finding that 60% of college-educated supported Donald Trump"
