@knoppix95 it's true if you have modern NVme storage and 16 GiB or more of modern RAM all desktops seem silky smooth.I've done a lot of recycling and still use boxes with HDD, older dual core CPUs and under 8 GiB of RAM. KDE works but is slow to start, and it helps to turn some of the bling off. As you go to 2 GiB then LXQt is the way to go.I just can't get on with GNOME, everything is in the wrong place and it feels so ugly. It is 100% a personal choice based on my experiences obviously.
