@mandy At the earliest possible opportunity is the short answer I discovered last year that they can refuse a claim if you know about pre existing conditions at the time you •book• a trip! My wife has multiple disabilities and we've learnt to be extremely careful when dealing with the insurers. Declaring a condition doesn't always increase the cost of cover or impose conditions.

I've renewed our annual travel insurance. How much? We both have pre-existing conditions and my wife has an extensive list of those. It also includes cruise cover. For 2027 I'm going to try single trip insurance because the annual policy is becoming unaffordable. After our experience in Majorca I won't travel without insurance, and we have learned we have to be scrupulously honest when getting a quote.
