@lianna - some of that stuff I just flat-out don't accept. Which means that there are a lot of events and venues that aren't for me, and that I won't attend. I have zero patience for shit like people who unironically call themselves "slaves", romanticizing "1950s lifestyle", public CNC play and rape-play (because fuck you, enthusiastic consent means *from everyone, including spectators*), race-play, etc. I don't buy into the notion that "your kink is not my kink but your kink is okay" should mean subjecting myself to trauma just so that you can be lazy and not do the hard work of carefully curating and contextualizing your scene.I'm into some fairly hardcore edge-play myself. I'm also a professional creator of theatre, and a former professional domme. I take consent seriously and care deeply about audiences. If I'm going to be doing something scary like rough body play or a scene that reads like abuse? I'm making DAMN sure the environment is appropriate and that anyone present feels agency and safety in that room. And I'm not shy about saying exactly why I won't attend events where that isn't a priority for people.

A Vancouver hospital won't treat pregnant trauma patients. This surgeon says other facilities lack the right specialists, tooThe medical director of trauma services at Vancouver General Hospital says the health authority's directive to divert pregnant patients is causing "horrific distress" among clinicians. The directive comes as the hospital operates without any on-call obstetricians.https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-pregnant-patients-vgh-diversion-9.7115404?cmp=rss

Complete spring clean of my study today so that I can replace the carpet on Monday. First time in 5 years that I went through my memories box. (As the child of a hoarder, I allow myself one crate-sized hoard)- I discovered my diary from 1994. After writing about what it was like living in South Africa just before the vote to end Apartheid, I was astonished at just how all-consuming and terrifying the looming election was (https://passiontounderstand.blogspot.com/2010/04/this-day-in-history-27-april-1994.html)- I discovered my diary from 1998 and now know the date of the bank robbery that changed my life was 17 January 1998- I found and discovered the digitised version of my wedding video. Most sad was my friend Steven wishing me luck for having a honeymoon baby, and his wife Bianca saying she was still waiting for hers. She took her own life 10 months later and I never had kids of my own (although I bought up two beautiful young men)#Memories #Trauma
