@paulschoe Technically, this is what's been going on all along, for millennia. Rumour of a plague in China? Prices on Silk Road goods go up in the Holy Roman Empire, while those goods are still available to the seller at pre-plague prices. Buyer looks a little haggard? Cut him a break, if you need the sale. Surveillance pricing is the same strategy, just hysterically magnified in time and scale. It's not a new way of pricing. Just a much meaner version of what we've always done.
