It's not #podcasting if it's not #RSS but why do we care?Cause that ensures the medium is decentralized. That anybody can create a podcast using whatever tech they want and anybody can consume it using whatever tech they want. And that locks in independence for creators. There is no third party who can silence anyone for saying something unpopular.I advocate decentralized media because the technology opens the culture to every perspective, which is how democracy thrives.#DemocracyOfReach

@tg Yeah, Feedly was clearly the biggest winner with the Google Reader shutdown. I used Feedly for a little while, then went to Feedbin, then to FreshRSS self-hosted, then over to News Explorer for iOS/Mac synced via iCloud, and now back to FreshRSS self-hosted. I decided that web access is important enough for me and pretty much all the RSS apps can sync with FreshRSS so it allows me to try out a variety of interfaces, like Current, as well

I ask...does anyone here know a tool similar to OpenRSS that really works? not itself because the site is mostly down, has long delays in post aggregation and sometimes breaks completely. These issues increased considerably in recent times.#rss

In der Vergangenheit hatten unterschiedliche Redaktionen ihre Sendungen als RSS-Feeds bereitgestellt, die wir auf unseren Plattformen zusammengeführt haben. Aufgrund einer sehr geringen Nachfrage liegt es inzwischen wieder in der Verantwortung der einzelnen Redaktionen und Sender, Inhalte als RSS-Feeds anzubieten. Auf den Webseiten einiger Hörfunkwellen sind entsprechende Feeds weiterhin verfügbar.Uns ist bewusst, dass sich viele Nutzerinnen und Nutzer eine plattformunabhängige Abonnementmöglichkeit wünschen. An update on the CBC RSS feed situation. It seems they're blocking specific user-agents, including NetNewsWire.Their support team responded:> Unfortunately accessing our content via RSS feed is not popular with many users and so resources are generally being allocated to other areas and fixes for glitches with current RSS feeds are not being prioritized.
