(02/2026) At the feeding places of white-throated dippers, you can see a lot of fox tracks on the edges of the ice, and here is one of their makers. Foxes are omnivores, and in addition to birds, there are rodents and mustelids (weasels, stoats, minks) that can be hunted by the waters. The white-throated dippers are still there. #kettu #vulpesvulpes #redfox #fox #rödräv #räv #luonto #nature #naturephotography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #nuts_about_wildlife #wildlife_photography #nuts_about_nature #WildlifePhotography #luontokuva #luontokuvat #luontokuvaus #suomenluonnonvalokuvaajat #naturephotography #finnishnature #wildlifefinland #excellent_nordic

@NovaNaturalist One species comprised of many subspecies that are genetically distinct. So the anthropogenic introduction of novel and not locally adapted genes is like genetic pollution. There's also a risk of disease introductions.Canada made a similar mistake introducing plains bison to Wood Buffalo NP because we failed to recognize there are two bison subspecies. We should really just stop moving wildlife around the globe for our designer needs, and only do it for rewildling and captive breeding.
