@Nonilex He still believes the "spontaneous uprising" thing?By chance, I was rewatching Curtis's documentary "HyperNormalisation" and in it I noticed where he said...Instead of a violence born out ofpolitical struggles for power,it became replaced by a muchsimpler image of an evil tyrantat the head of a rogue statewho became more like an archcriminalwho wanted to terrorise the world. All the politics and power dropped away. The problem was just them andtheir evil personalities. And after 9/11, this led to anew, and equally simple, idea. That if only you could removethese tyrannical figures, then the grateful people of their countrywould transform naturally into a democracy, because they would be free of the evil.Trump is still apparently waiting for the grateful people of Iran to rise up against the (still) tyrannical regime. I'm sure that destroying their civilian infrastructure is exactly what's needed to reassure them that the benevolent US regime has their backs... /s
