#PPOD: Korea’s Kompsat-2 satellite captured this image over the sand seas of the Namib Desert on 7 January 2012. The blue-and-white area is the dry riverbed of the Tsauchab. Black dots of vegetation are concentrated close to the river’s main route, while salt deposits appear bright white. "With original plans having been fluked by torrential rains, I was able to capture this image from Stonehenge. Not an easy capture. With the change in light, it was possible to capture Venus for a short time before setting. What made it more special was the thin, crescent moon that joined the parade to make for a stunning sight and planetary gathering."
