@YaLTeR Very nice write-up! RakuOS is one to look at also, they seem to have a more mutable overlay. And Zena, one of my personal favs: mango and niri, bootc, cachy kernel and the nix pkg manager. But I'm a bit of an Immutable geek, even made my own bootc images based on UniversalBlue. It is a very exciting space where lots of people start making their own images, and use cases like yours make it much more comprehensive.
