Q3: @MakersHourDishcloths, the unsung heroes of the washing up bowl. How might you clean the things you have made? Please share your cleansing secrets.A3: Mostly, I clean wood with a damp cloth and a small brush for internal corners. For metalwork I use acetone to wipe off greasy surface mess prior to painting. Lego used to get put in the dishwasher, when I had a dishwasher, and other small makes get dusted off with a paint brush.#MakersHour

Q2: Given a new dishcloth, what would you make from it, in your usual style? Your other working materials are a given.#MakersHourI would use it in the kitchen, to dry stuff. Does that count? I sew little and mend more often, so a new dishcloth would just be enjoyed.

@Janet_52square Different people mean different things by it, so either.Personally, I am imagining a cloth for washing up as opposed to a tea towel for drying up.#MakersHour

Q4: What sort of messes does your making produce, that you could use a dishcloth for cleaning up? The dishcloth might not be the best thing, but it is all you have. Q5: This ‘dishcloth’ thing came about from my misreading last week. What funny or confusing misreadings, potential or actual, have you had in your making? Instructions, measurements, or whatever you casually read during your projects.

Q4: @MakersHour If you are struggling with a make, what do you do to over come it?A4: Depends. If it is a work project, I usually have a deadline to work to and little choice but to get on with it. I would be feeling rotten about it, but once started I am usually ok.For personal projects, that is much harder. If I am struggling I need to know why, and if it is something I can change or adapt to feel more positive about it.Right now, though, every creative making project is on hold as we are clearing out the house.#MakersHour

@MakersHour A3 that depends how you define tool. Is an end mill a tool? Is a drill bit? I don't actually know the answer. I'm guessing well into 3 figures, possibly into 4 figures. But that covers the tools for:- woodworking - metalworking - plastics- ceramics - sewing- knitting - leatherwork- Plumbing - gardening - general household maintenance - electronics- 3d printing. Hmmm. Yeah, probably into 4 figures. #MakersHour

Q1: @MakersHourSay hi, and tell us what you’ve been doing this week.A1: Hello, I am Alfred, maker, carer, caretaker, and miniaturist story teller. This week has been mostly moving stuff about. Still clearing out the house and packing things. There are a lot of things. I’ve had a staff meeting at work, and this morning moved three of the twelve paving slabs to the Community Forest Garden to use as a base for the future toilet block.Tonight’s soundtrack is: Simon and Garfunkel’s Greatest Hits.#MakersHour

@MakersHour Hi folks! This week I've been massively procrastinating the things I should be making, by making other less important things instead. So, standard week really. Currently about to start on this random wooden #JigsawPuzzle because it's been a stressful day.
