Last week we hosted our first #janeswalk and turned out to be quite a lot more popular than we expected (which is a great thing!)We did a guided walk exploring the camera surveillance infrastructure built into our city's streets and buildings. We walked in the PATH downtown Toronto between Union and St-AndrewThank you everyone for joining!

Hey #vancouver , it's almost time for the #JanesWalk festival and this year I'm leading a walk! It's called "What's Cool About Vancouver" and I'll be talking about stuff I notice about Vancouver as a transplant that makes it nicer to live here (and that might not be obvious if you grew up here or lived here for a long time.). (It won't be brightsiding- I'm here to talk about the problems too! But I hear a lot of locals talk about how Vancouver isn't a very inspiring city and I don't agree, so I want to talk about it.)It's on Sunday May 3 at 10am and we're meeting at the concrete benches outside Science World, close to Terminal Ave. This walk will be about 1.km long (with a further 0.5km if you want to come hang with me at Small Victory in Yaletown after) and there will be no steps, suitable for people with mobility aids or strollers. My walk blurb is at https://www.janeswalkvancouver.ca/2026-walk-schedule#h.6iaxdn857k9t and the festival has a lot of great walks this year, so consider coming on a walk with a neighbour!(boosts welcome)

We are hosting a Jane's walk on Sunday May 3rd!Join us on a walk from Union to St Andrew’s as we lead you on a privacy check over PATH to better understand how privacy laws and rights look in practice across Toronto. Participants will use a ‘Privacy Checklist’ on the way to identify potential data collecting devices such as cameras and sensorshttps://luma.com/ja6l848q#janeswalk #toronto
