I just found out my wife raw dogged IRC in college. No wrapper or macros, no mIRC once that was a thing. She had a notebook with the commands written down.Respect.She got a fist bump for that.I mostly did MUD for chat and I used TinTin.Still, after nearly thirty years I'm still learning new things about the woman I love.Neither of us got to use BBSes.#IRC #MUD #GoodOldDays

@lil5@social.linux.pizzaThe #xmpp server #prosody is pretty low on resources usage. Not sure if that claim really holds. Also hosting it is not difficult. Never hosted an IRC server though.I use #IRC channels for e.g. #Debian but the feature set is pretty limited, compared to xmpp. I never considered really using #matrix as it felt slow and buggy in my tests.
