@Maker_of_Things Speaking as someone who took a lot of blood in his career, and for a while managed phlebotomists and phlebotomy training.... - it will definitely hurt if there's pressure on the puncture site as the needle comes out. This is a very common error. The pressure should be applied immediately after the needle is withdrawn, not before. Paradoxically, smaller gauge needles tend to hurt more than larger needles (green is the usual size, blue is smaller, white is bigger). It's unusual for Nurses to take blood in primary care these days - it'd either be a Healthcare Assistant or a Phlebotomist.

Just done another tip trip.Loads more random rubbish, plastics, card, and e-waste gone. Also oils and antifreeze from two cars ago when we had a mk2 Octavia Scout that leaked everything.I am going to go and do something else for a bit now.

I think that is the trailer loaded to sensible capacity. There is more scrap steel to go, so no need to over do it.

Good Morning Worlds. This morning I need to go to my usual day job as a drain clearing company is there to clear a blocked drain.I have no idea how long I might be there for.Later (if I get a later) I will do more clearing out, and maybe a tip trip if there is time. Then we are cleaning the Meeting House ready for the weekend.#GoodMorningWorlds

Paving slabs delivered to the Community Forest Garden, and had a nice chat with a woman wanting to restore a 1930s oak serving tray at the Community Workshop. Then back to sorting and packing.I found my motorbike helmet! The boots, clothes, (and motorcycle ) will go to a charity shop. They are good leather trousers, over trousers, and winter trousers, but (probably) no longer needed.I'll keep the helmet, though, as no one should want a pre used helmet.

@yngmar It will probably get packed last because that is how long it will take me to figure out how to pack it. Seriously, though. It will take a lot of thought as I want to rationalise all the hand/power tooling and sell or give away stuff I no longer need to have. The remainder, I think, will be organised into moveable tool cases so that they can be transported more easily. Then there are the machine tools....Sometimes I still wonder about a 7.5 ton truck and just fit out the box body as a mobile workshop instead. I can then sort and move it once, and still have it useable where ever it is (until it gets stolen).

The rest of the crates have arrived!Interesting that the Parcel Force driver saw us in our drive, putting stuff in the bins.He said he thinks he has a delivery for us, and he had been next door, but it wasn't for them!Well, of course it wasn't for them, it is all addressed to us!Why can't people doing deliveries read addresses! In the meantime we have turned a load of bathroom fans into cardboard, plastics, metals, and e-waste.

Good Morning Worlds! It's a Saturday and I will need to pop into work at some point to see if the toilets have flooded.I am also expecting a delivery this morning, not the rest of the crates but the infotainment screen for Bugsy. I will install it and hope it works as a fix. There will be more tidying up and sorting of stuff to leave the house, but no trips to the tip, it will be too busy there. We will also be having dinner with Mum tonight.#GoodMorningWorlds

@naturepunk Naproxin twice a day seems to be helping a lot, as well as the anti gout meds I have been taking long term. The frustrating thing is that the gout is distorting my big toe joints into a bunion and that means footwear needs to adapt over time.I realised, yesterday, that the boots I wore for our wedding were in the charity shop bag that went last week. But realistically, after 12 years, I probably wouldn't be able to fit into them anymore.@Steampunk_Prof

I have done the homework, welding the tree pruner. The main pivot pin for the compound action lever was missing. I turned a new one and welded it in place.#RepairCafe #Recycle4GM#GortonMonastery

At repair cafe this morning I looked at:A Dualit Kettle - the switch was burnt out and Dualit have spares, just not for this model!A baby buggy - the brake cable had snapped, replaced with a bike brake cable and made up the ends to suit.A selection of gardening cutting tools - sharpened them all and advised on tool care.A remote control car - unable to help as all the batteries were flat.A record turntable - It needed a full lube service and replacement drive rubber wheel after being in a loft for 10 years. Client decided to replace with new.I also found another volunteer would like my Telefunken M24, and a Land Rover front axle. So more stuff out of the house.#RepairCafe
